BAPTIST MEDICAL PARK Provided demographic needs analysis for six ambulatory care services in an area where the hospital desired to build a 50,000 square foot multi-service, ambulatory care center. Developed pro formas identifying staffing, revenue per case, expected contractual allowance, and all other operational expenses for each in concert with hospitalŐs finance department. Coordinated with large, national design/build firm for construction and equipment costs to deliver an integrated financial projection to client. Client has re-engaged The Firm to assist with interviewing physicians related to the surgery center part of the project, and to develop a successful joint ownership opportunity between the hospital and the local physicians. ambulatory facility, containing an MRI unit, full imaging
diagnostic service, surgery center, joint ventured home health
care business, durable medical equipment business, independent
primary and reference laboratory, and a rehabilitation unit.
Responsible for leasing all physician space, developing all
operating systems, and overall management during first 12
months of operation.
KPMG, Peat Marwick, CPA Worked with the accounting firm to develop integrated operations
of a large, primary care center to be constructed by a large
Chicago-area hospital. Operational focus included review and
validation of performance, and analysis of patient visits,
patient flow, staffing, and organizational management. Assisted
planning team with implementation methodology, and market
share and penetration strategies. METHODIST MEDICAL CENTER OF ILLINOIS Performed a demographic analysis and extensive physician interviews
to recommend specific services that may be offered in a suburban
community where the hospital desired to develop a multi-service,
ambulatory care center. Worked with a national design/build
firm to develop a space program that complemented the services
we specified. Developed a complete equipment budget for the
project. Validated location of ambulatory center that Medical
Center had purchased. Developed a market positioning strategy
for the center. Developed financial projections for each service
along with staffing models and equipment needs. Client reference
available upon request. PORT HURON HOSPITAL Surveyed a rural hospital and made recommendations to the local
hospital board members and administration of Port Huron Hospital
related to whether to convert a rural hospital to a nursing
home or an ambulatory care center. Worked with VHA of Michigan
as a consultant on this project. Developed a list of ambulatory
care services that would best fit for market area population,
reviewed and rendered opinion on site selection for new ambulatory
care center, validated financial projections developed by
hospital CFO for primary care and other services we recommended,
assisted architect and client in reviewing single-line drawings
for the ambulatory care center and recommending space requirement
for each service W/ASD recommended. Client reference available
upon request. NORTH DENVER MEDICAL CENTER North Denver Medical Center contracted with Ambulatory Systems
Development to assist with the program development of services
in this 16,000-square-foot multi-service ambulatory facility.
W/ASD provided the following assistance:
TRINITY MOTHER FRANCES HEALTH SYSTEM Analyzed 6 counties surrounding Tyler, Texas where said health
system is located to ascertain what type of physicians and
ambulatory care services should be offered in each county.
Determined locations for each of these Multi-service Ambulatory
Care Centers. Prepared a program of service specific to the
demographic and competitive composition of each market and
worked with architectural firm to develop a space program
and plan for each center. Developed pro formas for the urgent
care services and reviewed hospital prepared pro formas for
each service to be housed in the MACCs. Determined site and
worked with architectural group to develop space program for
Urgent/Primary care center in South Tyler. Developed program
of service and pro formas for this project. Provided valuation
and negotiated purchase of an Ophthalmology ambulatory surgery
center on behalf of TMF Health System. We will redevelop the
hospitalŐs other multi-specialty surgery center and syndicate
it to other local physicians in Tyler. Client reference available
upon request. ROCKFORD CLINIC Provided feasibility studies for a 70-physician multi-specialty
medical group to develop, own, and operate freestanding CT
scanner, GI lab, surgery center, and cast room. Also, coordinated
the development of the surgery center. VAIL VALLEY MEDICAL CENTER Firm has provided interim CEO and overall hospital management
services. Board retreats conducted by Mr. Woodrum, Partner
W/ASD, related to future direction of the Medical Center.
W/ASD contracted to complete a two county assessment of demographics,
competition, acquisition opportunities, and make recommendations
related to an ambulatory care strategy for the Medical Center.
